A Poem by Mrudula Rani

Fate
( senryu)

All my downs and ups
the lot, not of my making
Some do bare Your stamp.

I absolutely love this. The lead in with the word "fate" is quite justifying, yet so completely ambiguous that it detracts nothing from what the reader should want to see in the piece from their own stories. Fate is a funny thing and how we each identify with it bears the marks of what has impacted us the most. I read it and was immediately brought to people in my past who have left their own marks, their own...impressions...and ruminated on how they enveloped the ride of the roller coaster that brought me to where I am today.

So much said in so little.
So much power with so little density.

I am a fan. This is going to my favorites. Thank you for writing this. Its beautiful.

Rating: *note: a VERY rare 100/100.

Beautiful description of fate! It's amazing how much could be said in so few words. I like your approach of describing the emotions and events associated with fate rather than fate itself.

Thank you for your wonderful thoughts .
Perhaps fate is merely the predictable pattern of one's personal free-will choices, played out.
Then, again, fate may just be the chooser of obstacles.
Whatever the case, this is a brilliant, insightful senryu!

Thank you very much, for your lovely words.
Ah..I love the way you write great things in just few words..What our life today is definitely because of our own choices but it is also because of some people who leave their permanent mark on our lives..I agree with you..
Well done and keep on writing..

Thank you. dear friend, For taking interest in my writings. I appreciate your wonderful thoughts.
The aspect of your message that I like the most is how this narrator is being gentle when pushing back upon the other person. I feel we should all own our life choices (not blaming others), but it’s also unavoidable that other people leave their mark upon us, such that we choose the way we do! Perfect balancing of life’s opposing forces (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Can you blame somebody else for your fate?
Damn right you can.
Wonder if she got the brakes fixed comes to mind.
