Lust or Love?

Lust or Love?

A Poem by Xxxxxx
"

This poetry is about a guy I have been messing around with since the summer time.

"
Don't know if I love you or if it is lust,
Though when your away from me I think about you and our sex scenes,
Is it lust or is it love?
Do not know how am feeling though it seem I feel both at times,
I always look forward to your text messages or phone calls,
Is it lust or is it love?
Though I have these mixed feelings towards you, I try to ignore these feelings
I know you aren't the right guy for me yet I still think about your jerk, freckled face self,
Is it lust or is it love?
Though I wish you were to think more about bettering your life, I know I can't change that about you,
Can't change your jerk tendencies,
Can't change you,
Your only my mess around yet I want you more each day,
Is it love or is lust?
Though I have these mixed feelings I can't see you as nothing more, You aren't for me and am not for you
Mixed feelings make me want to leave, though the more am away from you, the more I want you
Is it lust or is it love?

Both. Romantic love is called Eros love for a reason, that reason being that romantic love is almost always accompanied with sexual attraction. There are a few cases where it isn't, like with those little kids holding hands on the bus, but Love without Lust is almost like friendship. Even if you aren't attracted sexually, you'll still think to some extent that they are 'cute' because that's how Eros love works. If you don't get turned on, you get that warm, fuzzy, tickly feeling that you would never get with your friends. It's a unique type of feeling.

This is something I ponder about all the time. Great job.

What a dilemma! The emotion is well displayed and the flow is nice. I guess we have to follow our hearts, never settling for second best, if we can't accept someone fully as they are in the begining then they usually aren't ours to keep in the end. Well penned!

sometimes, we ain't even know what exactly we want from life -- love? or its pleasure the name of lust? or may be, both at the same time? well, may be, it's both. love needs caring, perhaps, lust denies such caring-ness. it's fond of pain with pleasure, but the love's infatuated with pleasure with peace. so yes, it's just a contradiction of mind and heart where us all being trapped in between. such a hunger it is! very deep poetry you've come up with. you speaking the heart here.

Great poem... A question many of us ask ourselves at one point or another.. .
As for my own experiences... There is also an odd in-between emotion that branches out into options that can't be thrown into either category. --- anyway
I dig the honesty in the questions and feelings and how you express them poetically. Well captured.
Thank you for sharing!
