Hard to Swallow

It was a crowded bus
that allowed me
the proximity of him.

The relative humidity

was climbing
as my eyes took him in…
the opened shirt
the stressed jeans,
the crossed leg upon the bent knee.

I tried hard not to stare
at the size of his boots,
wondering - aimlessly
if it gave any credence to

the analogy it emulates

I pulled my lip into my mouth
biting hard in contemplation,
smiling my most cheshire grin

Such truths ,
analogically speaking
would be hard to swallow!

the "whimsy" is absolutely perfect. Should I ever meet the lady I think may be you, don't be staring across the aisle at my feet. I don't wear boots and my feet are short...but take heart--they are not a descriptive analogy of ALL of me! :-)

hmmm...so perceptive you scare me.....but I love it
Wow! This is playful, sexy, whimsical and downright fun!
Oh, what goes through our minds as we steal glances at those unsuspecting fellow travelers.....

Thank you, Rubie. I think I've given the MTA a most interesting public service!
Naughty, naughty girl! You will bump into things if you spend your life looking at men's feet lol!
I love the description and feeling you put into this Kelly although the last line of stanza three felt a little rough?

Much better Kelly.
It's even more amazing what an endlessly creative mind can do with it all … and you seem to have no problem grabbing your share of scintillating visions.

And, to think, I wear a mere size 11* ; )

Cute, ingenious, original, vividly alluring to the senses, but most of all sooo much fun … ummm (that's my way of saying … well, I love it!)!

Thanks, Kelly, for being so delightfully naughty – I hope you never change … LOL! ~ Richard

More like an admiration, an analogy, wanting to find a pair. Nice one
Kelly, I don't want to be misconstrued in any of my words in this review as in being in any way some kind of pervert, but in works such as this (and some of your others) I truly want to be this object of your affection that you write about. It's telling that us men can be moved in a romantic erotic way with words just as much as women can. It's a sham that society has told us "here is some dirty low budget porn. It is yours. That's it." Most men like to be appreciated for our ruggedness without coming off as wimps. I love when women look at me with hunger. If their words matched their glares I daresay I would transform into a beast. This poem has gotten under my skin and I appreciate it. CD

You naughty kitty, you! Very witty indeed. Very racy too, but very delicately done so. I love the lines about the boots and the analogy *clears throat*. And the last stanza is the bomb. Your Cheshire kitty smile is very mischevious, but that's just fine ;).

Thank you for engaging the flagrant approach of my muse, Nadia...it was a blast to write!
Naughty naughty! I like it! though truth be told the analogy is wrong as there are many other factors involved but I digress. This write was fun and enticing and made me "Cheshire grin" as well. Nice job!
