Georgia Summers

Georgia Summers

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Georgia Summers

Georgia summers

were as piquant as

a mint julep in July.

Languid days of skinny-dipping,

where temperatures were as high as

the traversing of hands

 underneath a skirt

of fettered gauze.

You are a queen of the sensual verse Kelly. This is so enticing. Your words simply glow with desire. The picture and the words take the breath away. Oh to traverse!.................................I have been to Traverse City in Northern Michigan.

...aww, thank you so much, Breezy girl!
gotta love your steamy style Kelly, the summer heat, the cool waters and the silky thighs those hands traverse, sounds like summer bliss, your poetry is beautiful and sultry, sensuous and sexy, setting the shower to cold right now lol

Perhaps I should save some of that steam for when it gets colder, eh? You are such a dear, Richard,.. read more
I like this one a lot (although I like all of your poems a lot). I had to look up 'piquant' & 'languid'. It reminded me of a movie called "My Summer of Love".

A sultry piece that reminded me of the movie The summer of 1942 for some reason just had a feel of mystery and the photo displayed the innocence, youth and carefree moments of the Bilitis movie

big wow on the last four lines....sensual piece, but you just do this type of poetry so well....we feel the heat of July, the heat of the heart pumping blood into the sexual tension of the moment.

Thank you for telling me that...I appreciate it, Aaron!
First the picture, very nice and intriguing. Also captures the heat of summer and anything to cool off. Anyone that has been in the south in summer will understand the words you so eloquently used in this piece of yours. I really did enjoyed reading this Kelly such a good job you did here. By the way I'm in Alabama at this very moment visiting in the heat of summer.

Oh yes it is but on the coast. So the ocean breeze is good.
~~This reflects a youth and passion that makes one yearn for those days along with you despite never having experienced it.~~

Aah, languid! One of my favorite descriptive words. Used so marvelously in this glimpse of summer love and lust. Be still my poetically beating heart. This is as good as it gets, Kelly. take care...dan
