Biscotti and Coffee Bedside

Biscotti and Coffee Bedside

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Biscotti and Coffee Bedside

wrapped in his love

on this Sunday afternoon

lying near the rib

of a man

groomed in a guise

of utter perfection…

a gentleman of a man

wearing a five o’clock shadow

and the inventory of a stare…

with biscotti and coffee  bedside.

Lol, I appreciate that!
This is a eye of a devotee describing a moment of complete contentment... her feeling of being created out of his side next to his heart?), of him being 'very good'...and maybe naked too - wearing only his stubble. 'The inventory of a stare' flummoxed me.. I would like to know what you had in mind... though I have half an idea what he had in mind... hence the biscotti and coffee... worth a few Brownie points, as we say.

A lovely pungent aroma of satisfaction and contentment, framed in the words that so enhance the mood and the occasion.

You are welcome dear Kelly. I love and need my coffee.
This sounds like a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The tantalizing aroma of the coffee and the tasty treat next to the bed only second to feeling of warmth of the arms of a loved one. You have created yet another beautiful romantic scenario with your words Kelly.
