A shade of gray

The shattered glass

upon the floor

gave credence

to her doubts once more

 

for there,

within the matted frame

a love had vowed

to never wane.

A promise

that beckoned to be true,

was dressed in something old

and new…

 

and wearing a smile

handsomely portrayed,

deception wore

a shade of gray.
