So Deep It Goes

So Deep It Goes

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

So deep it goes

Love walks into our lives

masquerading a false bravado,

beseeching us to fall.

It withers

when unattended to,

it scars

leaving an indelible impression

like footprints in the snow...

so deep it goes.

It sinks into the depths of the soul, weighing heavy in the heart, and we find harbor beneath broken wing. So lovely.

So kind of you to say, Linda. Thank you so much for the joy you bring me, today!
Is that you I am seeing on the other side of this mirror? For a moment I thought you were looking into my soul. Have I told you lately how deeply your words move me?

This poem, like all of your writing, leaves a deep impression on the heart and mind. I often feel, while reading, like I am looking at a beautiful painting for the first time. Few poets can create such vivid images with mere words. This will be a keeper for me!

I appreciate the warmth of your words, Dara. Thank you so much!
Love sings and fades into mere black and white - perhaps in this case: snow white. Kelly, you've always, always found the perfect way to describe imperfection - as you do everything else.

What a wonderful thing to say...thank you, dear Emma!
Strong words and depth of emotion, beautifully expressed. Bleak, stark imagery so on-point. “Love Hurts” and woe the cicatrix. Love this Kelly.

And you! You are very welcome Kelly.:)
Honest, powerful and true thoughts about love my dear friend. Old song told the truth. The first cut is the deepest and after a time. Accept the bleeding. Thank you Kelly for sharing the amazing poetry.
