Hindsight

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Hindsight

Were they brown…

Were they green…

I know

I must have seen.

Thank you most kindly!
If we do, then we know a few things for sure. We were uncomfortable speaking to them in one way or another, interest wasn't there, we are not eye people and we noticed something else first and foremost. Lol...I could be wrong. Eyes are the very first thing I notice, and then hair, especially if its wet. From there it goes downhill....this is a great short poem with a lot possibilities, Loved it!!!

For me and eyes...yes.
I am often guilty of missing the color of someone's eyes even though I feel like I look right at them. I wonder why.

I am one happy guy and true.... thank you kelly...
But in the end, all we remember are concepts and feelings...the color of the eyes is not as important as what they said to us. You have a special knack for saying a lot in just a few words, Kelly. Always a pleasure to read you. Lydi*

I totally agree with you, Lydi. It is all about the way they made us feel. Thank you so much!

Gee
I always look into the eyes of whoever I happen to be talking to, sometimes ending up not even listening to the words being said.
Makes me uneasy when a person avoids eye contact, it's as if they have something to hide.
Good morning Kelly, hope you are well, I'm guessing yours are......bl.....brown

You are welcome Kelly.
I was always told you know true love when you ve lost yourself in his eyes...leaves you forgetting the color of even your own.

I wholeheartedly agree, Eve. Thank you!
dear Kelly... I must have seen the world when I first looked into his eyes.. with flecks of blue and green with brown shadows... your poetry is a vision of earth and sky in the blink of an eye. truly, Pat
