Women

We women do funny things,
things men do not understand.

We...
cry when we are overjoyed,
smile anytime we're angered, ready to fight fire with fire,
laugh when we are scared or nervous,
fight for the craziest things,
have pride in what we do.

Men underestimate our strength,
find it crazy to believe.

We...
bear the pain of a friend,
comfort anyone and everyone in need,
struggle through life's hardships,
carry our burdens like a soldier,
stand tall and proud even when our pride is hurt.

There are so many things
that men do not see,
things which make us women,
just as strong, just as equal.

Nice write. And I quite agree with what Faye says. It is not important to be "equal". Both the sexes are different. We have our strengths and weaknesses. I appreciate the truth in what you have written, with such simple words. Great job!

You know there was a time when I thought that women didn't realize their strengths past looks, so many at that time were just not realizing who they were, but times have changed since then and it is good to see the changes are for the better. I realized a long long time ago that women were equals, I learned that lesson before high school in a most embarrassing but eye opening experience.

I think men do see this truth but chose to not recognize it for they would lose control and perceived power over women. Denial is a very powerful ally or enemy depending what side of the fence your on. Very powerful write, superb!
