Zoji La

Zoji La

A Poem by Murtaza Kanue
"

This poem is dedicated to all those people who died in road accident in Kashmir.

"
A boy named Faiq,
Had a motorbike
He used to race,
On the streets of my place.

He was so fast,
He never came last.
Many girls were impressed
By his skills and his Charm.

"I'll be late nanny"
He said to his granny.
He started his bike
And went for a ride.

It was Friday
He reached Sonmarg
"Lets start the race"
He said to his friends.

Faiq was in front
For two three miles
Neck to neck
With other guys.

Blind curve ahead,
A board on the road.
"Lets try a stunt"
He said to himself.

With Increasing speed,
He lost his control
Felt off a cliff
On Zoji La Road.

Zoji La remains,
But Faiq no more.
