Dream Stealers

Dream Stealers

A Poem by Dalaina Renee
"

This is about people who you think you can trust with a secret then they go, steal your hearts desire away from you.

"

Did you once have a dream, that was so

real, that it almost seemed like you could

really live it?

Did you have such a dream, that you didn't

want to wake to the reality you had to

call your life?

Did you ever make the mistake of telling

someone about your dream?

And then they went and it came true for them?

Now the dream is no longer yours.

It belongs to the dream stealer.

Now they are living your dream.

And you are left with your own,

reality.

Until you can find a new dream.

Then take care of that dream.

Don't let a dream stealer, steal it

away from you....

This has happened to me on occasion. I once wanted to be an Archaeologist, and then my step-sister wanted to be an Archaeologist. I once wanted to be an artist, and then my step-sister wanted to be an artist. I once wanted to be a singer, and then my step-sister wanted to be a singer. Then I became interested in writing. There's no way that she's stealing that from me! :)

As I read this I began to think of the dreams as poems and of the dream stealer as a plagiarist...that made me shudder. People do steal dreams in reality. Like the repeats you use to drive the point home.

I had a friend who constantly did this. If you said you were doing something, she had to one-up you. You could never do better than her.

Hahaha, this is so sweet.
You have a child-like way of writing, very innocent and pure. ^_____^
