Path

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

Not sure how I got where I am.

Lonely, tired, in desperate need of a friend.

Feeling defective and refused.

Feeling as though my heart's been misused.

How much more can a broken soul take?

Was every turn I made a mistake?

The road it seemed long, I took it short.

Left to feel the rath of my own court.

Judging myself a failure to all.

Just sitting and waiting for the next time I fall.

it's been a seriously long time since i read anything that gave me chills such as i just got reading this!! as sorry as i am to say it, it's good to know that one is not alone in the emotions they are struggling under. of course we realize deep down that millions of others out there are in the same, many in much worse, situations as we- but actually seeing it with your own two eyes....
thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of writing with the world (at least the Writers world:) i'm sure you hear it all the time, but i seriously could relate to this one!
bravo!

This particular piece oozes with self-dejection. It reads as if a plague of failure has infected everything, whether it had been a failure or not. Almost as if hit by a steamroller, life begins to take on the taint of that failure. We start to see everything through those dark colored glasses. Many people will get lost in this, as they are overwhelmed. Doubt sets in, and they begin to believe it does not matter - nothing they will do will ever be right. At times like this, it is important to pause - take that deep breath - and reflect upon the true nature of one's life. In that moment, it is a case of focusing on the positive - those things that have gone right, the accomplishments, and the reason we go on. Success and failure are both part of life, and it is important not to let the positive be forgotten. Even if it is a tidbit at a time, so that we might go on in less pain in this life.

I love the vivid images your words bring to light!!!!! I have been in this state a couple of times in my life and have discovered, life is a learning curve all about choices to teach us about our true nature. Thank You for sharing!
