Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

I wish I was a butterfly,

Beautiful and free.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Floating through the breeze.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Colors bright as light.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Able to take flight.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Silent as the wind.

I wish I was a butterfly,

And a flower was my friend.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Fluttering with grace.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Soaring place to place.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Beautiful and free.

I wish I was a butterfly,

Floating through the breeze.

This one is really wonderful. It'd truly be bliss to fly, that's for sure!

I believe that this poem really has impact. Oh to be the peaceful butterfly...here is a poem full of hope.
Although Butterflies live a short life, they are symbolic of metamorphosis. In Christianity the caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly are symbols of life, death, and then resurrection.

"I wish I was a butterfly,
Beautiful and free.
I wish I was a butterfly,
Floating through the breeze.

I wish I was a butterfly,
Colors bright as light.
I wish I was a butterfly,
Able to take flight."

The metaphorical imagery is beautiful and really takes you away, as if reaching into your soul and begging it to take flight.
Thankyou for sharing.

Neat, really colorful with expression. Makes me wish I was a butterfly, or a dragonfly, or a humming bird, ether of them catches the grace of this poem well. Very well done, nice flow, very wonderful detail, makes me happy oddly.
