A song I wrote about my husband. :)

I knew I'd love you the first time you smiled at me,
I felt surrender at the touch of your hand,
You broke the slanted world that I'd built up all around me,
You found a heart in me I'd never known was there.

So keep my days burning with a brilliant morning,
And keep the stars spinning through my sky,
Keep the faith in my heart always fresh and blooming,
We'll live forever if you just will stay the way you are.

I'd never known fear until the first time that you kissed me,
I'd never dreamt until the night you held me in your arms,
So much I thought I knew was falling down all around me,
The hope you gave me then will always be my guiding star.

So keep my nights pouring down like our love's endurance,
And keep the river of my soul flowing free and strong,
Keep the luster of our future like a lover's secret,
It'll last forever if you just will stay the way you are.

I've got a grip upon the earth that I can't escape,
Got heavy wings that don't know how to fly,
I've felt the wind and heard deception's calling,
I've seen myself in all the passions of your eyes.

So keep on smiling like you've always known me better,
And keep believing that I'll catch up someday,
Keep all our memories in the dawning of every morning,
They'll last forever if we just can stay the way we are.

This is a song I wrote...but alas, I can't play an instrument so the chords in my head are deaf to the words on the page. Regardless, I hope you enjoy.
