Cold flame

Cold flame

A Poem by Najam Us Saher
"

Personification of a candle

"
COLD FLAME
Surrounded by emptiness and silence,
I bring you light when you are in darkness.
Afraid what lies in pitch black room?
I erase your fears.
You carry me along,
I help you seek out things.
You use me and forget,
While I burn for you.
I am no great soul,
I am a candle who lives for you.
My flame keeps me warm,
Because I am surrounded by cold people like you.
I burn to brighten your day,
I am so selfless.
You blow me when someone else brightens your life,
My flame quivers,
And then I feel cold
I am still ready to burn for you again,
Because I am remembered as the one who lights the darkness.

The title itself talks about two contrast things, cold and flame. The way you have symbolized a candle's lifeline with human feelings is really creative.

I love the title for a start, as well as the undertones of heartache.

Thank you so much for saying so. I am really happy that you find them meaningful and inspiring. ☺
A conceptual poem based on the struggling fight of black and white, dark and light, cold and hot... You push me one way, and them mightily yank another on the next line... Personification of a candle... I def' felt like a candle reading this...
