Don't let my words fade

Let my words remain in your heart forever

DON'T LET MY WORDS FADE

I will not live long,

I want my words to remain forever. 

I will leave my unsung songs,

Promise me, you will leave them never.

When I am no more, don't cry,

It would be deceiving me when I was alive.

So here I lay, under this tombstone with my head up high,

When people like my words and want to see me, tell them that I am no more;

Show them where I lie.

My words will not haunt you,

They will be gone along with me.

I will leave my words with you,

Don't expect them to be words of glee.

I wish that my words gain attention,

As I was not a person to be.

I lived all my life in seclusion,

Don't believe? Come and see. 

This is how I bid you goodbye.

After I live; before I die. 

Author's Note

I always wanted to write something that people read and recall that after I am gone.
Don't worry about me, it's not like I am unhappy now, I am fine. These are just words.

It's human nature to want some part of us to last forever. I think people have children for this reason. And as a writer, you've expressed the desire to have your words last longer than your fallible body. I don't see this as any kind of sad write, so I am not seeing the need for your author's note. I think dying is perfectly natural & so is the desire to be eternal. I believe that our words are not the way we live forever, but it's in the way our words make a lasting impact on someone.
