Dark Poison

Don't allow negative energy to consume you. Do not let people brainwash you negatively.

It is dark poison,

It approaches stealthily over the horizon,

Unawares, it slowly creeps through you,

The misty dark fragrance hinders your view

 

The innocent sees,

The blind disbelieves,

He does not wish to see, but the seen,

Cannot be unseen

 

It's a breeding ground for maliciousness,

Play their games and they imprison us,

It's a dark agonizing theme,

Fed by an ingenious self-serving scheme

 

They devise the perfect ruse for malevolence,

They penetrate through the inviting cracks of innocence,

They thrive, these maggots of the mind,

The untampered, they easily find

 

They cast dark shadows over your bed of red roses,

Guide yourself away from evil like Moses,

If you wish to find a cure,

Stay away from them a mile or more

So many rich words and phrases in your poem, and an incredible message. I particularly like "They penetrate through the inviting cracks of innocence." One of many true, simple statements in your poem. And, while a bit dark throughout, the call to "guide yourself away" from the evil and darkness is a great way to close. It's a hopeful message that speaks to strength and resilience. Thanks for sharing your work.
