With the Sun.

With the Sun.

A Poem by Nancy

He came into my life
as suddenly as the sunrise.

Felt his arms around me,
his gentle kiss whispering "I love you."
His sweet voice making promises
of forever in my ear.

Before I realized what was happening
I let myself love him with my heart, and soul

Letting go of my past,
willing him to let go of his ghosts,
Wishing my everything meant something.

Feeling alone, I wonder as my heartaches..
Will he leave as quickly as the sun fades?

Last line is the question that is answered with time and a life together. I like the feel and emotion in the words. Life is taking chances. We will lose many. But we need one victory to keep us content for a lifetime. I like poetry that ends with a question. A excellent poem.

For one reason or another, more than likely it made me feel something from the 80's. but this work reminded me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3MXiTeH_Pg&ob=av2n maybe the last lines are what put the tunes in my head.

A truly heartrending melancholy write.
Sadly we can only trust that the sun never
fades and still provides the warmth and
light that shines over a relationship…

Very good. Its unfortunately a worry that every lover must carry. Quite a burden, but the rewards for carrying it are immense. Even if love turns sour, you're left wiser and with the mark of someone else indellibly left in you. Of course the heartache always feels unbearable, but that's what makes those lucid moments of true love valuable.
