Amethyst

Amethyst

A Poem by Nansi London
"

i was prompted to write about my favorite color...

"

Ruptured vessels pooling beneath my skin…
Leaving ruby red puddles, just there, slowly forming.

The cold sucking mercilessly at the warmth that was formerly there.
Hazel, blank eyes at the sapphire sky, set in an eternal stare.

Death dancing his fingers gently across my neck.
Savagely, internally stealing my hasty breath.

Summer colors upon this golden skin, they shall miss...
As death and winter kiss this dormant flesh to an engrossing hue of amethyst.
