Fizzle of coke

Fizzle of coke

A Poem by Moonie
"

~Rebellion sounds like soda fizz~

"
There is a fizzle of coke in his eyes,
gold-brown, and minute in size.
Here, sweet watercolor reticence hides,
and rainbow shampoo bubbles run wild.
I see sadness, evaporating in a moth ball puff,
wisdom of poets, and Wilde's witty stuff.
Here, fondant sleep-stirring stars shine,
and broken wishes stand, aligned.
Here, rest his sherbet lemon lies.
Here are crammed his handsome smiles--
Ironed, folded-up, and stacked away,
on the wooden bookshelves of yesterday...
Like tea leaves, his fears have settled in the depths
of some silly childhood moment, still kept.
I hear the rumble of lava lamp retorts stuck,
echos of trains and toy trucks,
the tinkle of stories told over tea
jelly bean jokes and memories of me...

Moonie
This one is quite an old poem, that I finished recently. It was unpublished and hidden here for a long time, but now it seems whole and worthy of being published on here...

It seems this poem might be about a mother looking at her adult son and seeing him through the years...with shampoo on his hair in the tub as a tot and with laughter as an adult as he reminisces with her. There is a lot of love in between the lines and a bit of poignancy as well. So very lovely. Lydi**

It's as though you were flying your words like a kite. You have much control in your pen. Nicely done Moon.

The above lines stood out to me. What we see when we really look can stir the heart. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you so much for the review, E!!
So much dwelling in this sea of your words. I could see you painting colors and flavors of life, the past, childhood glimpses, those memories that seem so vivid though they're becoming mist of the mind. Extravagant world, dear poet.
