Memorial Day

Memorial Day

A Poem by Nathan Baretto
"

A short poem on our perished heroes

"
The first, last, and in between
every death is a burden
a ceased plant in the winter snow
words full of deepening sorrow
and tragedy too dreadful for discussion
yet a day marked for each
can be a light for remembrance
to honor every single one
that showed courageous intentions
so look not to the future
but instead at the distant past
for every fallen soldier
that makes memorial day last
