Rest In Peace.....?

The Funeral.....

The air was cold and I wrapped my arms around myself to keep warm.

I was dressed in black but that didn’t help much. I was practically shivering…

 

I looked around. The cemetery looked damp. Everybody was mourning. That’s what people do when people die…..

 

I stood away from everybody else. I didn’t have the courage to look at the crying faces or the lifeless body….

 

I looked down at my hands. They were pale. My whole body was. Maybe all the crying had its effect.

 

“Clara…..”

I heard my name being called out softly…………

 

I looked in the direction of the voice. It was my mom.

 

Then I heard violent & emotional screams as the body was lowered into the grave……..

“Clara…. dear…. Why did you leave us?

Why…… oh God…..don’t be so cruel…

Give her back…….please……”

 

Yes, you heard her right. It’s my Funeral………..

How can a dead body wrap its arms around itself? That's one part which I felt was out of place. Another one being the long ellipsis you put in places.
But otherwise I liked the plot twist. Nice attempt at horror.
