Dear Laura

A Story by Neetha

Hope is real. Previously published as 'Never Lose Hope.'

Dear Laura,

  What happened to you girl?

 Are you still alive?

Have you magically vanished into thin air or something?

C’mon! Don’t ignore me like this!

After all, who stood by your side when you got spanked by Miss Lacey?

Loads of Love (well, if you don’t reply, this statement will change!)

-Samantha JJ

Dear Sam,

You are happy, I guess.

I am happy for you!

Dear Laura,

You get a letter from a long-lost BFF and this is all you have to say?

Where is my Laura?

Have you killed her or something?

Reply back!!

Dear Sam,

I am not the old Laura.

I can never be the old Laura.

I have lost my job.

I have no money.

I have no home.

Sorry for being rude.

I have forgotten what enjoyment is.

So please stop hurting me by reminding me of my blissful past.

Dearest Laura,

I too am not the old Sam.

Both legs amputated, I am, physically,

 only half-alive.

Bound to the wheel-chair, I live.

My heart is overworked.

I have no soul mate to hoist me up in the air.

I am still in the search, you know.

Every day, I promise myself that I will keep me happy.

Every day, I promise myself that I won’t let unnecessary tears run down my cheeks.

I love my life, however hopeless it may appear to others.

I thank God for keeping me alive & happy.

If I can live through this, what’s holding you back girl?

-Loads of Love
