Running my fingers
through the folds
of your clothing,
Till I find that piece of you
kept hidden so well

I pocket what I need
and resign to charity
spelling out romantic gestures
with the tips of my fingers

blowing breezes
to summer skin

unbuttoning your chains
stealing your curves

I think this is probably one of my favorites from you, Shane. You have wound together the perfect bit of imagery and metaphor into a package that is not only sensual, but also filled with deep longing. I don't know whether to feel happy or sad in finishing this piece, and I think that is the beauty of it. This is real life...we are all takers in a way, and we are all givers too. To save those things most precious, little treasures in our own "shoebox hearts"...what a great image.
