Wings of Gold

Wings of Gold

A Poem by Kristine

Birds could never fly, if not for their wings.
I think that if we had wings we could fly too.
Fly to the end of the world and back again.
But we’re not birds, and we have no wings.
And even though our soul soars above the sky every night,
we’ll never be able to fly on our own.

You know birds without wings are like people without dreams.
Dreams are all we ever really need.
Dreams of gold, dreams untold.
We only have this chance.

We have dreams upon dreams, but we never do what we think and dream.
We do what’s expected of us.
We follow our leaders without questions.
If we followed our heart and dreams, we would have a better world.
If we learned to fly with wings made out of the finest dreams we could change the world.

Anything’s possible with wings of golden dreams.

Beautiful imagery. Just one thing, did you mean 'soars' instead of 'sours'? But I liked the purpose of this poem very much.

I like the sentiment of this poem. Especially the way you link Birds wings with our dreams. There is a nice flow to this poem too.

"Anything’s possible with wings of golden dreams." I really like that!
