Seasonal Troubles

Seasonal Troubles

A Poem by Nesh

Comets dropping from the sky are quite a scary sight,
Millions of them falling, causing untold blight.
But the locals were prepared, as they always were
Hiding, helping - altogether - that's what they'd prefer.

No one seemed that frightened, not even in the least
They were all used to dealing with weather from the east.

But this change of sky was really not that weird
Within a day, the earth would rebuilt itself, all healed.
As it happened, nature rarely broke it's balanced streak
So the lucid comets fell upon them once a week.

Thus the locals sprung for cover, clearing out the zone
All working together, no one on their own.
After scurrying to safety, they all gazed toward the skies
Some shaking heads, some nods, a few relieving sighs.

Too much hassle it might seem but, really, there's a reason:
It's just hard to be an ant during the rainy season.

This is cute. It has a Dr. Suess quality to it and I enjoyed reading.
