The Things I Wish You and Mom Knew

The Things I Wish You and Mom Knew

A Poem by Neshie
"

Not much of anything. Just my way of coming out to my parents.

"
There are so many things I want to tell you.
But I'm just so scared that you will not understand,
And turn me away,
Before I get the chance to explain.
I just want you to know who your daughter really is.

Here I go.
Dad, Mom, Please still love me by the end of this.

Your daughter believes in God-
-S and Goddesses.
I believe in magik and witchcraft,
But not the kind you are thinking of.
I promise I believe in good, "white" magik.
I am Pagan.

Your daughter is into girls.
And boys.
So, I call myself by the term "Bisexual".
And the picture I put to this piece,
Is the Bisexual flag,
Pink, blue, and purple are my colors of Pride.

I know I will be bombarded with questions and concerns,
But please still love me.
Just ask if you don't understand.
I'd rather that you'd ask me
Before you turn me away,
Or make your own assumptions.
I am still the daughter that you have loved for this long.

I love you.
-Your Bi and Pagan Daughter.

Hey now, there is nothing wrong with being Bi or pagan. Your parents should love you regardless of who you are deep down inside. I'm proud of you for writing this because some people don't even get this far. Btw, Ethan I'm proud of you too bro. You are more comfortable with yourself than I probably will ever be.
