When They Took Away the Tumour

When They Took Away the Tumour

A Poem by Neville Pettitt
"

For my wife.......

"

When They Took Away the Tumour

When they took away the tumour

They left us with a scar

Yet my love goes so much further

Than the star I named for her

Some scars go on forever

Whilst others not so far

Yet my love flows so much deeper

Than all the oceans sailed for her

When they took away the tumour

They left us with a scar

Yet my love is so much brighter

Than the brightest super nova to be sure

When they took away the tumour

They left us with a scar

Yet my love for her is stronger

Than the strongest super-steel or super glue

I just wanted you to know that

So there

We in England spell it like that because, that's the way it is meant to be spelt, okay

Your emotions never mess with spells about anything, whether sadness, meandering or smiles, Neville. Tears would wipe away typos anyway.. but you know that, don't you. A beautiful post, full of a good man's love, a dear woman's courage.. and memories that somehow shine golden.

Neville. Physical scars fade, you know that and will take comfort from it.

This is something I faced almost a decade and a half ago, which sadly became more than just a physical scar when our beloved nanny goggles was taken when she was only sixty eight, (no age nowadays.) The memories will ever remain, but I would much prefer to still be able to hold her hand in mine.

Beccy.

Thank you Beccy, you are of course right
When the one you love needs surgery, you feel it almost more than they do. You want to make it better. You know you can't, but you want to so badly it hurts. There is a lot of love in this poem, Neville. Lydi**

Thank you Gee
The most arresting aspect of your message is the strong way you're saying: "I'm there WITH you!" It's definitely portrayed as a shared experience, which shows your true & caring heart more than any other thing . . . your hunny is very blessed & I'm sure it's mutual! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Love heals everything and with each day it becomes deeper!
Love gives us strength to fight all life's battles and makes us winners!
I hope the tumor is benign and the scar fades away into the story of love.
A beautiful tribute to love that grows strong with life's tests and trials!
Wish you two all the best. A very happy Christmas and a great newyear!
