From Behind a Secret Curtain

From Behind a Secret Curtain

A Poem by Neville

From Behind a Secret Curtain

From behind a secret curtain

There is a window barely open

Where lovers used to place love tokens

But now that window has been broken

And from her dream she has been woken

Without delay she hid behind drawn curtains

Daring not to take a peek a taste a touch

Knowing that she lost him

Because she dared to love too much

This is an intriguing message conveyed with mysterious imagery that I cannot follow for sure. I can only guess that a lady of the night fell in love, so that changed everything. This could also symbolize the shift from being open, honest, naïve, trusting . . . to posturing behind curtains (or perhaps an addiction) becuz trust has been scrambled beyond comprehension. Other than that, I have no idea what this poem is about! *wink! wink!* (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie
