'The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on...'
Mhhh, perhaps so, but at least once writ, and regardless of which corner the poet scuttles off to, the words remain.

our words are gift isn't it.. a true blessing to live and to feel alive even when we don't get to in real life...and maybe its the best gift we can have as we age to capture the memories...and to remain in hearts of the readers :)

People - whatever their work, don't have to be brash or startling headliners but - be felt perhaps and recalled at quiet moments when merely a comforting or inspirational glimmer of light's needed. Perhaps.
What a moving, reflective write. How the soul aches to go on, to live always in the words, the rhymes, the prose. And yes, how history starts at the end of each breath.

i think most of us will keep writing till we drop...maybe not as well as before, maybe better because of the influence of our own history and visions of what has been throughout our lives..
maybe the words aren't better as we age but could have a bit more wisdom.

I don't know Neville, i think often out of sight is out of mind; old dusty books shoved into drawers, then sent to charity shop and then fire fodder...
Several wonderful poets i have known are not mentioned anymore... they seem to have faded away with time.

Good afternoon Neville. These words have great meaning for me as a fellow poet. My words are more important than anything else I own. I would like them to be remembered. I think you are saying the same thing. I want my poems to be read and enjoyed by family long after I am a glint on a snowflake. If anything I have ever written is remembered by anyone else, then it would be an added bonus. My grandchildren are custodians of my poetry and all three of them have told me they will take great care of it. Todays poem, becomes tomorrows history. I love your words.
