I am that old man

The one with the

Silver hair

You smile at

Each morning

On your way

To the office

 

Most mornings

We just sit and sip

Our coffee’s on

Opposing pavements

Outside respective

Roadside cafes

 

Yesterday though

You admired my blue

White and yellow striped

Nylon shirt

The one I bought

From a market stall

Way back in 1976

 

It was then

For a moment

I felt young again

Until you remarked

Upon my blue

Wow, a shirt from 1976 when the wearer was no doubt at his peak. Part of his wardrobe, that he can't possibly bear to part with, as there are too many memories. Feeling young again until ................ I am left thinking what on earth could she (yes it has to be a she), what could she have said to dampen the spirits of this poor old geezer as he sat in the sun sipping his coffee? Well it couldn't have been creased, because nylon doesn't crease, it just drip dries. Now it wasn't splashed with ketchup was it Neville? You always get me thinking Neville with your writes, always take me there.

not after I dived on me bed, missed some hippy chick, caused a spark as them shirts oft did and burn't me bloomin house down... bang went a bloomin fantastic set o nylon.. loads of it paisley too.........

there was no dark... the whole village lit up.. took the entire fire services from the combined Midland Counties to tackle the blaze... ask Gee if ya dont believe me x
