I'm fed up with Brussels....

 

A Bucket Full of Buttercups

 

He gave her a bucket full of buttercups

That went with her marmalade hair

She said graze signor

Would you now care to take me somewhere

That I’ve never been taken before

 

Then he gave her a boot full of daisies

That went with her white cotton slip

She said merci monsieur

Would you now care to take me somewhere

That I’ve never been taken before

 

He gave her a boat full of forget me nots

That went with the blue of her eyes

She said Blagodarya vi gospodine

Would you now care to take me somewhere

That I’ve never been taken before

Then he gave her a cartload of turnips

That went with nothing at all

She said Danke mein Herr

Would you rather prefer a blooming

Good kick in the balls………

The title drew me in. Someone gave me buttercups and forget me nots both such evasive plants, still they pop up after many years lol.

Brilliant and fun Neville. I'm with you on the Brussels thing entirely. I kept getting distracted by past thoughts of being in Bruges and wishing I could find a sharp object to impale myself on, as well as Colin Farrell and the brilliant Brendan Gleeson in the movie In Bruges, who basically came to the same conclusion of the place.
