If I ever drive from Northampton to Derby which is not very often these days, I always try to avoid Daventry if I can... but one day, I swear I will leave you flowers...

Almost Barely Nothing

 

I never once thought

I would dance with you in shadows

 

Not in a million years

Despite a span of only several dozen miles

 

I never once thought

That I could count on you

 

In spite of all your promises

Not in several dozen million smiles

 

I always knew one day

You would end up pushing me away

 

In spite of all my insights

You knew how to turn me off and on

 

Always full of clichés

You used ignorance as a currency

 

Now though you are little more than an 

Afterthought and hardly even that these days

it is something written in a moment of loneliness and trying to block something or a little thing from the past.. there is the pain felt upon reading the poem but then it makes us human
