Defeated

This is a poem that my friend wrote and had me finish because she couldn't come up with an end that she liked. It is also where I got the title and repeated line for The World Will Never Be the Same.

Demon horns
A blade in each hand
On the side of the devil
His right hand man
She hated all
And trusted none
Tortured many
And killed for fun
Men cower before her
Women and children too
Even demons cry
When she comes into view
A sight to see
That woman is
Clothes in rags
And bloody fists
Even Satan feared
What she had become
He hid deep in hell
And told the demons to run
She laughed out loud
When she heard the news
Her father was scared
The leader of all that was crude
Hell hath no wrath
Like a woman scorned
“Gods wrath has come!”
People screamed to warn
All men fell
Only ashes remained
A laugh slipped her lips
Accented nicely by blood stains
All around her were ruins
The crumbling stones
The crackle of fires
Reminded her of home
‘Time to go home
But first I’ll have a snack’
She found one last victim
And held her knife to his back
“Move and you die”
She whispered in his ear
She bit into his neck
And dissipated his fears
The flow of the blood
Rich and hot in her throat
She drained him dry
And threw the body into the smoke
Cheerfully she skipped
Along Hell’s road
She wanted to see her dad
She couldn’t wait to gloat
“Honey! I’m home!”
She shouted with glee
Standing proud
She was certain he wouldn’t flee
Lucifer himself
Flew down the stairs
Held the torch to her face
“Why should I care?”
“I’ll kill you daddy
Just like the rest...”
She warned him
Simply as a test
“As if you could”
She knew he’d say
“Guess we’ll see”
And they fought night and day
Day in and day out
The battle went on
Six days later
He broke that day at dawn
Breathing heavily
She laughed out loud
“No one will ever love you,
My child!
As if there was anyone left
To love you, that is!
I loved you once
But I was foolish!”
A slight falter you’ll see
If you look real close
Over come by the sadness of the truth
Not wanting to show weakness
She brought back her grin
And that was the end
The day so long ago
Satan’s daughter betrayed him
She put on a show
And he was the star
He died that day
But in the end
She really lost
Defeated by her own blade
She took another life
And the world will never be the same

It's got a really engaging story, you just need to be careful with the meter. (You don't want the reader tripping over words when you've got them in a steady rhythm.) very good start, and nice imagery. : )
