Glimpse

Glimpse

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

I can grip a shadow
Grasp, perhaps
Glimpse her scattered darkness
Her stillness
is what shatters me
No ghost
Nor demon
I peer from corner of eyesight
I watched you move
I saw you sidle
I saw you blanket a statue
I watched your demise
As night befell

I follow you, shadow
I await your return
Gather your strength
and meet me
at dawn.

I follow you, shadow
I await your return
Gather your strength
and meet me
at dawn...

Feels like you are awakening the dead ...and calling her into you ...

then also same time it feels like her sorrow causes so much trouble to you ..you want to take it all into you and make her feel alive...

This is beautiful your words have given me a window view into you. At the same time it has the feel of a regretful tribute. I love reading this.

I like the unsettling imagery this beckons. Your word choice is excellent and the way you chose to separate stanzas keeps the reader interested, while adding dramatic pause. There's an obscurity to rhyme scheme here that works. I really dig it.

You are welcome
An enchanting and escapist romantic piece of poetry which reminds me of unfrequented lost love which is banished to the dark place in my mind.
Affairs and past loves immerse me like a tidal wave of emotion, your writing is eloquent and inspiring.

I don't know how to respond, other than, thank you. You are perceptive.
this is quite a riveting piece,
a sense of foreboding woven
through this...much enjoyed your use of mystique metaphors and dictation...

brilliantly penned , thank you for sharing — x
