In The Fold

In The Fold

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

I can find the shattered memories
In the fold of a page
Sharp bending
Folding
Folded pages
I won't look
Can't
I've read volumes
of you in the crease
Of the letters you've written
The sadness as I open the envelope
Crashing into the stamp
Dreaming of the places you've haunted
The places you are today

There is something deeply sad but somehow comforting about revisiting a memory of lost love

I see this as the painful reality that intrudes knowing you've lost at love. The letters that were once perhaps happy and promising are now like paper graves. A dead cause with no chance to revive what once was.

This is beautiful and sad and shows how well you know your lover.. to understand her past demons and hauntings, to truly know and come along side her pain in such empathy is so touching. Beautifully sad.

It's a very sad poem... of memories . Yet you lovingly search for finding bits and pieces of her in those letters...
Made go awww... :(
You write with so much meaning in each line...like each line unfolds a ton lot of emotions...
Now I am sad... I need some happy poems.. to feel better... :)
