Autumn Oak

Autumn Oak

A Poem by Nix
"

This one simply comes down to my love of Autumn!

"

Black against the light of day
And basking in the act of autumn,
The Oak now stripped of her troubles
Is left with her arms in all directions.
She is seemingly taller,
With her feet firmly in the earth
But trembles at my touch
As she awaits the chill of winter.
Do not be afraid, she stirs
Her limbs swaying in the gentle wind,
We must open our hearts to change
And trust that the sun will warm us.

I enjoy this poem very much. I like a poem that tells me that a poet sees something, I mean really sees something for it's true beauty and significance. The only thing that I might suggest would be a comma after this line ...

"With her feet firmly in the earth"

... it feels like it needs a stop there.

Wonderful poem I love it.

I grew up with oaks in my garden and miss trees terribly now. They have a sense of permance, the oak was there before me and it will be there long after I'm gone.

I also think that you are taking wisdom from the old oak, dont worry change comes and you must change with it. All things must pass even winter gives way to spring and summer. The seasons change and so must we.

Wonderful...

Oh God ,my friend that was wonderful,i could feel the lovely words, the sadness of autumn
the longing of the tree for a change..but she was holding on..alone..
Black against all the light..hiding in shade of Autumn..The oak stripped of her troubles
Her arms spread all ways..she is taller, feet firm in earth..trembles to my touch..
as she awaits the cold..dont be afraid ,she tell..limbs swaying in the wind
we must open our hearts to change, and trust the sun to warm us again oh she is even a wise oak
Dont tremble, its Ok,open your heart for a change..
God how i loved this Dear Nixie, that was so nice so wonderful..

I love the personification of the tree in this, it's very creative. It portrays the beauty of autumn very well. Love it, really great work! Keep it up!
