Hold me close

Hold me close

A Poem by NotaRabbit19
"

It's no fun to have a fear of storms in the spring -- especially as an adult. But it helps to have someone there who will hold you until it's over.

"

The thunder rolls and shakes the night.

My hands go around my ears.

You hold me close and hold me tight.

The winds against my windows fight.

Each heavy raindrop perseveres.

The thunder rolls and shakes the night.

You find each lamp, turn on each light

And your reassuring face appears.

You hold me close and hold me tight.

Don’t know the cause of my childish fright.

I cannot control my tears.

The thunder rolls and shakes the night.

You say “It will be alright.”

You don’t berate me for my fears

You hold me close and hold me tight.

Even though we’ll sometimes fight

You’ll be there through all the years.

When the thunder rolls and shakes the night.

You’ll hold me close and hold me tight.
