Closeted

Closeted

A Poem by Noting Society

Secrets draw us like their muse.

So we come up with an excuse

To pose.

…and were somehow proud,

That no one found out.

And yet it’s killing us on the inside.

But you’re so well buried

That no one guesses the truth.

The girl of manipulation,

She lies to herself.

That’s why the world never knew.

Because she couldn’t even tell herself the

Truth.

Until now…and finally I feel free.

Like nothings tugging on my hair,

Telling me that hidden is fair.

Because the basement is where I lie

But I’m coming out and it’s true.

The light shining on my face

Because the truth is this could never be

Erased.
