Candy Red

Candy Red

A Poem by After Midnight
"

Losing faith...

"

Opening to bitterness
I try to fight this feeling inside
So thirst quenching, so unholy
Yet still I find myself going

Listen to me please I beg
I am not in jest or play
All I want is to breathe
And I might not make it one more day

The emptiness is calling me
The pull of silence stonger each day
And all I want more than anything
Is to lay down and let this all go away

My fear is strong and so I am unbroken
I hold onto the stars, the sun, and trees
praying to the gods to make that enough
just to wake and find I am just a stupid girl on her knees.

I don't think there could be a better way to express this feeling like you did. Been here before.

About
