A Rain Of Tears

This is a poem i wrote when i lost someone dear to me.

Is it true what we hear?

That you will be gone forever and never be near?

I thought you said you will be with us when we go grab the sun

But now, our dreams have been fired away by death's gun

And enemies have lined up with mockery in mind

Saying, "you have become laughing stocks with your dream behind"

Why didn't you tell us you said the 'Nunc Dimittis'?

Why didn't you tell us you were going to depart?

I still don't believe it is what it is.

Did you know a rain of tears would be flowing from loved ones' eyes?

Recounting every moment reminds us of the good times

And that beautiful smile I can see in a distance perhaps a mile.

A rain of tears bear our feelings crystal clear

But I know its a similar fate we all bear.

Goodbye is just a genesis of our love.

We will miss you because you were special and in our hearts,above.

I have mixed feelings here, and I'm going to be honest with you.

There are some universal human emotions that no matter the culture, speak to all of us. Losing someone is both personal and humanly universal, and you represent both aspects in this write.

I didn't sense much remorse so much as anger and selfishness in the narrator. I sense that narrator is more concerned with what is now missing in her/his life rather than a sense of mourning for a friend who's life is now over.

"I thought you said you will be with us when we go grab the sun" Love this line!

"Why didn't you tell us you said the 'Nunc Dimittis'?" I have no idea what this line means. Can you explain?

Its very simple. nunc dimittis means 'now lettest thou depart'(the first word of the canticle in St Luke, chapter 2 verses 31-35.Its like why didn't you tell us wanted to cross over to eternity.Thanks for the review.I appreciate it.

This is wonderful and I enjoyed it, with some sadness but then again…death always brings sadness along even into our writing!
