In the heat of the moment

you spilled your guts

then attempted to pick

the disgusting mess up

but what was said

can never be forgotten

even if it is the heat of the moment

when everything but anger is forgotten

Time stands still

mouths and hearts drop

like your walking through The Valley

or crossing seas on foot

entering boundaries that even you never thought

yet somehow we ended up here

in the heat of the moment 

time standing still

I see your struggle

and I feel your pain

so the mess I help clean

and I forgive you again

in the heat of the moment 

when time stands still

I can only imagine

the pain that you feel

Wow, powerful piece. It seems so me the character in the poem keeps being betrayed, but forgives time and time again. Cleaning the mess up, forgiving... Those first few lines were genius though, "You spilled your guts, attempted to pick the disgusting mess up" I loved that. Thanks for sharing!
