NEW LEAF

NEW LEAF

A Poem by Pash

My dark shadow slithered beside me on the dusty murram,
Above, the stars twinkled in mesmerizing brilliance,
I was conversing with myself as my footsteps took trail,
Reminiscing those colourful times my heart still pumped for you,
Ah! Those good old days that did sail away from us,
I missed the sound of your voice, the dimples on your cheeks,
Your eyes that glowed like the glisten of the moon on blue waters,
I paused, by the roadside trees that seemed to bow to the rhythm of the passing breeze,
This was a new me, I had converged my inward chaos to this outward peace,
This calm moon-lit night,
My new self crawled out of it's shell.
