Contemptuous Affairs

Contemptuous Affairs

A Poem by Oliver Lee
"

A love/hate poem

"

They say the person you think about when you wake up in the morning and the person you think about before you go to bed is either

The reason you’re happy

Or

The reason you’re hurting

I believe that all reigns true

With you sometimes all I can feel is blue

But I know with you, our love is true

Or at least it used to be

Maybe I overestimated how much you really love me

Was I a fool to think that I could be loved?

Or were you a fool to think I wasn’t enough?

Well, I gave you my heart

And then you ran away

I gave you my love

And you didn’t stay

I don’t think I can take any more of this pain

I’m so sick

And I’m done playing all of your stupid games

You’re pathetic

And childish

And I can’t stand you

And I bet now you can’t believe

That your biggest mistake

Was losing me
