You Keep Me Up At Night

A dumb short poem about my feelings

You keep me up at night with your breathing

thousands of miles away and you still keep me up 

with your heartbeat

your presence in the room when I'm thinking of you 

even though you're not here

and the thought of you 

pressed up against someone else

happy with them

is the most absolutely bittersweet feeling I could imagine 

ever 

because nothing makes me happier than seeing you happy

even if I'm struggling to hold back my tears 

because I wish that person was me

you keep me up at night 

in distress 

in affection 

in frustration 

and affliction 

I want nothing more than to just be with you 

and you want nothing more than to just be with him 

I want to talk about you 

I want to tell everyone about you 

and how beautiful you are

and how much I love you 

but I don't want to make it too deep

I can't keep thinking about you 

when I want you so badly 

I can't have you 

you keep me up at night 

I lay awake 

thinking of you 

happy without me 

and I think of all of the feelings I feel 

and wishing I couldn't feel anything at all

wishing I could just fall asleep

and forget what keeps me up at night
