FieldA Poem by Omar VegaThis is a more abstract poem of sorts. It could still work as a song in my mind.
A stolen voice
Fades to black In the empty field Where it once played With others Just as sweet Just as pure As the dawn The final wish Floats down the river In search of A home A shelter From Father Time's Cruel sorcery It must remain Unchanged Untouched Unsullied A faint echo reaches Amber Before it's too late She runs runs runs To spread the message Across every acre Valley and plain The procession marches Towards the edge Of the world Until they find The river That leads them To the field Where nothing grows A single shard Catches their eye They know what it means They know it's A shallow grave © 2017 Omar Vega |
