Shortcuts

Shortcuts

A Poem by Omikron
"

Sometimes it's better to bite down and do the hard work, without trying to make excuses or being lazy about it.

"
When you see me, do you really look?
Or do  you get fooled by the light that hits your sight?
You think that you can read me like an open book
I guess you forgot that you can't read without a light.

You want to find treasure, without having to search
You want to be first without feeling guilt
You want to explode without  having to burst
How can there be a home when there's no house that's built?

You don't need no towel, you'll eventally get dry
One way or another, you'll fulfill your wishes
So shortcuts are just extra efforts to not try
Watch out for the narrow roads, soon you'll swim with the fishes.
