Sentient

Sentient

A Poem by Omikron

It is a weak thesis that objects are not sentient,
For as I have been used by others, I am nothing short but identical to the description of an object.
And if this raging storm that roams in my chest is not identical to the description of a feeling,
Then I can't help but wonder what the point of being the owner of feelings is, if they are not felt.
Numbing of the self, though lack of feeling, is in fact also a feeling,
The feeling of absence is, in fact, also a feeling.
Empty spaces are, despite the emptiness, still spaces.
This leads me to conclude that a heart that has been tried, challenged and broken,
that slams on a sad drum in a way that only a defeated heart can do,
Is, despite being defeat and broken, still
A beating heart.

I like the idea behind your poetry. it's nice, to think of life and love in such way. the negation of experience from a sense doesn't destroy the truity of that sense, or its existence. Better to have loved and lost, better to have a heart broken - that way the ache tells you that in you is a heart, a beating heart. i like this.

Stunning! We have to live all the feelings otherwise we might as well be dead! Perfect picture too!
