Through Enlightened Eyes

Through Enlightened Eyes

A Poem by Kristen R. Heyl
"

Sometimes you may not always see the positive in things until you look back.

"

The wind whistles through the trees

and gently caresses my face.

I sit watching the sunset,

an array of bright reds, oranges, and pinks

streaking the sky.

As I visualize my futre

I ponder my past.

In my future, I see a bright array of colors

each one standing for success and as

I look back at the past I see dark colors

but with each new day these colors

start to lighten.

The lightening of these colors

represents each new step of self-discovery.

Little things that I have discovered

have provided intense brightening of my world.

Each day brings a new challenge

that I must overcome and together

these obstacles make me stronger

in every aspect of my life.

Kristen, I'm sorry I have been away from your writens so long. I forgot how encourgeing and wonderful the speed and sceam could. I need my friends in the Cafe and your work picks me up so. One quick oversite or typ-o. In the third verse first line last word. I think you left out a "U". Other than that this is short and very sweet. Keats once said, "The vivid colors of the artist palet can never matchthe color of Gods." The image of the evening sky caught my eye and settled in my heart. Thanks.
