VICTOR IN THE FIGHT

VICTOR IN THE FIGHT

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A look behind the walls of manic depressive illness. The form used is Rime Couie.

"
VICTOR IN THE FIGHT

Once again the mind is racing
Every minute I am tracing,
Footsteps to the past.
Eyes are bleary as I'm pacing
From the gloom I now am lacing,
Shadows which are cast.

From the darkness, day is dawning
Soon the son will catch me yawning,
Sleepless now am I.
Never-ending voices fawning
O're my mind an illness spawning,
Questioning....oh why?

Would to God this thing so daunting
That requires its presence, haunting
Ever through the night...
Leave me be without its taunting
Set me free from din of wanting...
Victor in the fight!

An excellent description of your battle with this disorder, and the form is excellent! Your lines, "Would to God this thing so daunting That requires its presence, haunting.........reminds me of words that Poe might have written.
Yes, keep fighting it as Melinda has suggested in her review. And may peace be yours!!

Memories do haunt us at times... Carry us away from the present into the past we want to forget... An intriguing piece :)
